On Saturday, May 10th, animal lovers from across the Suncoast gathered in Parrish, Florida, for a joyful and educational afternoon benefiting 2nd Chance Ranch & Rescue. Hosted at a generous donor’s private residence, the event featured an interactive exotic petting zoo experience, raising critical funds to help the organization recover from recent severe weather—and to continue caring for more than 200 rescued animals.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet a lineup of unique animal ambassadors including Cody the coatimundi, Sydney the baby wallaby, Cairo the camel, Moose the lemur, and Auggie and Tater, a friendly pair of capybaras. Horse rides, food trucks from local favorites Ryan’s Coffee House and North River Pizza Company, and engaging animal education experiences made the event an unforgettable outing for families and supporters of all ages.
“We live and die by community support,” said Signa Perry, founder of 2nd Chance Ranch & Rescue. “Events like this one give us the resources—and the encouragement—to keep going.”
The event wasn’t just about entertainment—it was a powerful reminder of how grassroots community involvement can sustain a mission rooted in compassion. Every ticket purchased and every moment spent with the animals directly supported the care, feeding, medical needs, and enrichment of rescued animals who call the Ranch their permanent home.
