16-Year-Old Girl In Critical Condition After Semi Collides With VW Sedan Injuring 2 On Rutland Road
Parrish Florida - Florida Highway Patrol has announced that 2 people including a 16-year-old girl are in critical condition after a semi collided with a Volkswagen sedan in Manatee County Wednesday Morning.
According to the report by FHP, the serious accident began as a VW sedan driven by a 16-year-old girl from Bradenton, Florida with a 44-year-old female passenger also from Bradenton, Florida were traveling north on N. Rye Road, approaching the intersection of C.R.-675 (Rutland Road) while facing a stop sign.
The semi driven by a 46-year-old man from Wimauma, Florida was traveling southeast on C. R.-675 (Rutland Road), approaching the intersection of N. Rye Road.
The VW proceeded through the stop sign. As a result, the semi collided with the left side of the VW’s left side.
After the collision, both vehicles traveled off the roadway in a southeasterly direction and onto the north grass shoulder of C.R.-675 (Rutland Road), east of Howling Wolf Run.
Both the driver and passenger of the VW were left with critical injuries after the accident. The driver of the semi sustained minor injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate this crash.
