17-Year-Old Killed In Motorcycle Accident On 63rd In Bradenton


BRADENTON – Florida Highway Patrol announced a young man died after being involved in a motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened as a 75-year-old man from Arizona was driving a Nissan Versa sedan north on Hawaiian Drive in a trailer park toward the stop sign at the intersection with 63rd Ave West.

At the same time, a 17-year-old man from Bradenton was riding a motorcycle heading east on 63rd Ave West closing on the intersection with Hawaiian Drive.

At 12:50:00 PM the driver of the Nissan Versa proceeded to make a left turn onto 63rd Ave West from Hawaiian Drive and drove directly into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist.

The 17-year-old motorcyclist attempted to slow the motorcycle down before colliding with the car, but was unable to bring the motorcycle to a stop, and crashed into the left side of the car.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased by Manatee County Emergency Medical Services.

Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate the crash.
