18-Year-Old Dies And 16-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Crash On Beneva Road In Sarasota
SARASOTA - Florida Highway Patrol announced that a tragic accident occurred very early Tuesday morning, that resulted in one young woman fatally injured and a 16-year-old girl in serious condition.
The crash began very early Tuesday morning as an 18-year-old woman from Sarasota was driving a sport utility vehicle heading south on Beneva Road, in the left lane south of White Sulphur Place.
Also traveling in the SUV was a 16-year-old girl from Sarasota.
At approximately 1:22:00 AM in the morning, the young driver lost control of the SUV, drove over the median curb and then collided with a tree.
FHP stated that the 18-year-old woman driving the car was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, and the 16-year-old passenger was taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment of serious injuries.
