2 Semi-Trucks Collide On I-75 Injuring Drivers And Pedestrian Near Port Charlotte
SARASOTA COUNTY - Florida Highway Patrol Announced three people were injured when a tractor trailer hydroplaned and then crashed onto a guard rail and then collided into another tractor trailer on Friday early morning.
The Accident Happened as 46 year old Ramon Reyes of Orlando was driving a 2018 Peterbuilt model 579 Semi-Truck Northbound on I-75, Port Charlotte heading north towards North Port.
At 12:55 A.M Reyes hydroplaned and collided with the guardrail after which the vehicle was redirected towards the other tractor trailer causing it to collide with the guard rail.The driver of the other tractor trailer was Julio Hernandez driving a 2000 Freightliner semi-truck.
During the crash 50 year old John Clements of Bradenton, a pedestrian trying to help the first driver prior to the second impact was also struck during the twin tractor trailer collision.
The two drivers involved in the crash were both taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for treatment, they both have minor injuries.
John Clements also had minor injuries and was taken to Fawcett Hospital for treatment.
FHP has stated charges are pending investigation is ongoing. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
