BMW Recalls 622,000 SUVs Over Child Seat Anchors

BMW has discovered that child seat anchors may become damaged and fail to properly anchor the seat in several SUV models.

The recalled models include X3 Sport utility vehicles from 2011 to 2017, and X4 SUVs from 2015 to 2017.

In response to the potentially deadly defect, BMW is recalling 622,000 vehicles worldwide. The NHTSA elaborated on the defect stating that “that the SUVs have anchor bars for child seats that can be damaged when people use European-style child seats.”
The Associated Press reported that the recall affects nearly 189,000 SUVs in the United States.

We urge all BMW SUV owners to bring their vehicles in for repair as soon as possible.
