Bradenton Man Dies In Crash After Car Drives Into Retention Pond Near Interstate 75 and State Road 64
Manatee County - The Florida Highway Patrol has announced a fatal single-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday afternoon, at approximately 1:48 PM. The incident occurred at the intersection of Interstate 75 and State Road 64, leaving one man fatally injured.
According to a report provided by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the vehicle involved in the accident was identified as a sedan, driven by a 24-year-old man from Bradenton, Florida. The driver of the sedan was fatal as a result of the accident.
According to the investigation by FHP, a sedan driven by a 24 year-old-man from Bradenton, Florida was traveling north on the northbound exit ramp of Interstate 75, approaching State Road 64. However, the sedan driver failed to negotiate a right turn while traveling northbound on the exit ramp of Interstate I-75, and the vehicle veered off course.
After failing to negotiate the turn, the sedan traveled off the roadway and crashed into a retention pond at the northeast corner of the exit ramp. After entering the pond the sedan then sank and became fully submerged in the pond.
Emergency responders pronounced the 24-year-old man from Bradenton, Florida deceased at the scene of the crash. The exact circumstances surrounding the accident are currently under investigation by the authorities.
Currently, it's not clear why the crash happened, driver error, or a medical emergency, however, this tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of defensive driving and observing posted speed limits.
