Bradenton Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash On 44th Avenue West Late Sunday Night

MANATEE COUNTY – Florida Highway Patrol reported that a motorcycle accident occurred at the intersection of 44th Avenue West and 5th Street West late Sunday night, August 6, as reported by the (FHP).

At approximately 10:04 PM, a motorcycle, driven by a 31-year-old Bradenton resident, was traveling east on the inside lane of 44th Avenue West. Simultaneously, a sport utility vehicle operated by a 22-year-old woman, also from Bradenton, was positioned in the left-turn lane of 44th Avenue West, preparing to turn onto southbound 5th Street West.

According to the report, while the motorcycle was approaching the intersection and entered the intersection despite the red traffic signal as the sport utility vehicle was attempting the left turn on a green traffic arrow. The SUV failed to stop before reportedly turning in front of the oncoming motorcycle, resulting in the motorcycle’s front colliding with the SUV’s side.

The 31-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on site. The driver of the sport utility vehicle sustained minor injuries. FHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, and more details will be available upon the conclusion of the investigation.
