Bradenton Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit On Cortez Road
BRADENTON FL - One person died after being struck by a sport utility vehicle very early Tuesday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol reported, the accident happened as a 27 year old man from Bradenton was crossing Cortez Road West just west of 37th Street West, walking from the Wildewood Professional Park driveway on the south side of Cortez, toward the north side of Cortez after 1:00 AM.
As the pedestrian was crossing the road, a SUV driven by a 51 year old man from Bradenton FL, with a 48 year old passenger also from Bradenton was driving eastbound heading toward the pedestrian.
At 1:05:00 AM, the front of the Sport Utility Vehicle crashed into the man crossing the road.
After being hit by the SUV the man came to a rest on the roadway of Cortez Road.
FHP has stated the investigation is ongoing.
