Bradenton Woman Fatally Injured After Being Struck By SUV On 14th Street West
BRADENTON FL - Florida highway patrol announced a woman from Bradenton has died after being struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning.
The accident took place as a 35-year-old woman from Bradenton Florida was walking on the north turn lane of US-41 (14th Street West), south of the intersection with Cortez Road.
As the woman was walking north within the turn lane, a 34-year-old woman from Palmetto Florida was driving a sport utility vehicle in the northbound lanes of 14th Street West.
At 2:18:00 AM in the morning, the SUV entered the northbound turn lane and encountered the woman while she was still in the turn lane. The front of the SUV crashed into the pedestrian.
The SUV came to a stop within the northbound turn lane south of Cortez Road.
The pedestrian was critically injured by the collision and was transported to a local area hospital where she died from her injuries.
FHP stated that the crash remains under investigation.
