Crash On Gillet Drive Kills One And Seriously Injures Another Tuesday Night In Palmetto
Manatee County - Florida Highway Patrol has announced that a man has died and another man is seriously injured when their vehicles collided in an auto accident in Manatee County Tuesday Night.
According to the report by FHP, the fatal crash began as a sedan driven by a 61-year-old man from Palmetto Florida, was traveling west on Gillet Drive, approaching a right-curved roadway, east of Gillet Road.
A second vehicle, also a sedan driven by a 53-year-old man also from Palmetto Florida, was traveling east on Gillet Drive, approaching a left-curved roadway, east of Gillet Road.
For reasons unknown, at 11:15 P.M. the westbound sedan swerved and entered the eastbound lane of travel.
the front of the first sedan collided with the front of the second sedan.
The driver of the eastbound sedan was pronounced deceased and the driver of the westbound sedan was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
