At a Sarasota event honoring Dr. April Glasco, David Goldman highlighted the accomplishments of Second Chance Last Opportunity and the need for continued community support.
At a recent event honoring Dr. April Glasco and celebrating women making a difference in Sarasota, Attorney David L. Goldman spoke about the growth of Second Chance Last Opportunity and the need for continued support.
David, who has worked alongside Dr. Glasco and the organization for roughly 25 years, talked about major recent improvements to the nonprofit’s facility on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way. He said the renovations have expanded the organization’s ability to serve Sarasota-area residents facing difficult circumstances, including through a full-time food pantry and improved emergency support services.
We’ve accomplished so much. We’ve just completed major renovations on our building, and because of that, we’re able to give services and have a full-time food pantry, walk-in coolers, refrigerators, and everything else.
He also reminded the audience that growth comes with real costs.
We need to step up a little bit more, so that we can really pay off these bills and expand our services and help people in need,” David said. “God knows people are in need.”
Founded by Dr. April Glasco in 1995, Second Chance Last Opportunity has provided practical help, guidance, and support for individuals and families across the Sarasota area who are trying to get back on their feet.
