Hit And Run Kills Teenager, 47-Year Old Man and Critically Injures Woman Near Bradenton
Palmetto Florida - Florida Highway Patrol Announced two pedestrians including a young teenager are dead, and a third is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning.
The deadly crash happened very early Saturday morning as three pedestrians including 47 Year Old Donald Keefer of Palmetto, 13 Year Old Tyler Shane Pittard of Palmetto, and 40 year old Misty Zipperer also from Palmetto, were walking southbound with traffic on the west shoulder of US 19, just south of the intersection with 49th ST E.
As the pedestrians were walking south along US 19, a vehicle - possibly a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, approached them from behind.
At approximately 2:36 AM Saturday Morning, the vehicle drove onto the west shoulder of the road and crashed into all three people.
After colliding with the pedestrians, the vehicle continued on it's way without stopping or rendering aid.
Pedestrian Tyler Shane who was just 13 years old, was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Also killed by the crash was Palmetto resident Donald Keefer. Pedestrian Misty Zipperer was taken to Blake Medical Center in critical condition.
Florida Highway Patrol later located, and impounded a vehicle of interest described as a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pick up truck, however the criminal investigation is ongoing.
