Hudson MA Man Dies After Being Hit By Car On Clark Rd In Sarasota
SARASOTA - Florida Highway Patrol announced one person has died, as a result of being struck by a car while attempting to cross Clark road Monday night.
The accident took places as a 59-year-old man from Hudson Massachusetts was walking across the lanes of travel on Clark Road (State Road 72) from the south toward the north, east of Gantt Road in Sarasota.
As the man attempted to cross the four lanes of traffic, a 62-year-old man from Sarasota was driving a sedan heading west on Clark road in the right-most lane approaching the intersection with Gantt Road.
At 9:46 PM, the driver of the sedan encountered the pedestrian crossing Clark Road in the right-most westbound lane, and was unable to avoid a collision.
The front of the car crashed into the man, and both the pedestrian and the car came to a stop in the outside lane of westbound Clark Road.
FHP has stated that the crash remains under investigation.
