Man Dies In Overnight Accident On Beach Road In Sarasota, Passenger Critically Injured
Siesta Key Sarasota, FL - FHP has reported a single-vehicle accident in the early hours of June 7, 2023, that has left one young man dead and another fighting for his life at a local hospital. The accident occurred on Beach Road, west of Avenida Del Mare, around 2:07 AM.
The accident began as a sedan, driven by a 23-year-old man from Sarasota, was reported traveling east, possibly at a high speed on Beach Road when the driver lost control near a curve. In the resulting accident, the vehicle ran off the road, colliding with a utility pole and a tree before overturning.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was ejected from the car during the collision and was fatally injured. First responders pronounced the man deceased at the scene of the crash.
The passenger, another 23-year-old man from Sarasota was critically injured in the crash. He was transported to a local hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.
