Man Dies In Port Charlotte Crash At 776 And Toledo Blade
CHARLOTTE FLORIDA - Florida Highway Patrol has announced that a man has been killed while being involved in a crash in Charlotte County late Friday evening.
The crash happened as a 75 year old male driver of a Sedan was heading west along State Road 776 approaching the intersection of Toledo Blade.
At the same time a 19 year old male driving a van was also traveling east along State Road 776 heading towards Toledo Blade intersection.
At 7:24 P.M the sedan turned left directly in front of the van, with no time to respond the front of the vehicle collided with the right side of the Sedan causing both vehicles to tumble towards the edge of the road.
The Sedan came to a final rest with a traffic utility box while facing east. The Van was redirected onto the southeast shoulder which overturned coming to a final rest facing south.
The 75 year old male driver of the sedan was killed in the crash.
The 19 year old driver of the van was not hurt in the roll-over accident.
The identities of the people involved has not been released by FHP pending next of kin notification.
The crash remains under investigation.
