Motorcycle Collides With Pedestrian At Harbor Boulevard Killing Her and Seriously Injuring Two


Charlotte County – Florida Highway Patrol has announced that one person has died, and two seriously injured after a crash in Port Charlotte Saturday evening.

According to the report by FHP, the fatal crash began as a 52-year-old man from Port Charlotte, Florida was driving his motorcycle with a 56-year-old woman from Port Charlotte riding as a passenger heading south on U.S. 41 approaching the intersection with Harbor Boulevard.

As the motorcycle was approaching, a 73-year-old woman from Port Charlotte was on foot at Harbor Boulevard and attempting to cross US 41.

At 6:41 P.M. the woman entered the path of the oncoming motorcycle and, the motorcyclise was unable to avoid a collision with the woman.

The motorcycle collied with the pedestrian, severely injuring her, the foce of the collision causing the motorcycle to overturn and throw the driver and passenger onto the roadway.

The injured pedestrian was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

Both the motorcycle driver and passenger were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Florida Highway Patrol has stated that crash remains under investigation.
