Motorcyclist Dies In Fatal Accident On Clark Road In Sarasota
Sarasota County - Florida Highway Patrol has announced that one person has died after a motorcycle accident in Sarasota Saturday Afternoon.
According to the report by FHP, the fatal crash occurred as a motorcycle driven by a 20-year-old man from Sarasota Florida, was traveling west on Clark Road, in the right lane, east of Sawyer Road.
At the same time a sport utility vehicle driven by a 67-year-old woman from Sarasota Florida, was traveling east on Clark Road, in the left turn lane, west of Sawyer Road.
At 1:10 P.M., the sport utility vehicle driver failed to yield to the oncoming motorcycle and made a left turn traveling directly in front of the vehicle as it approached.
The motorcyclist had no time to react and the front of the motorcycle collided with the sport utility vehicle.
The force of the collision critically injured the driver of the motorcycle. After the collision Sarasota EMS transported the injured motorcyclist to Sarasota Memorial Hospital and where they were later pronounced deceased.
FHP has stated that the crash remains under investigation, and they noted this includes the investigating the pre-crash speed of the motorcycle.
