Motorcyclist Killed In Crash In Punta Gorda On US 17
PUNTA GORDA FL - Florida Highway Patrol announced on a person was killed in a motorcycle crash in Punta Gorda Friday afternoon.
The crash took place as a 39-year-old man from Estero was driving a motorcycle on US 17 heading westbound on the center lane approaching the intersection with Florida street.
At 4:55:00 PM the motorcycle veered off the left driving off the roadway where the motorcycle crashed into a guardrail.
After colliding with the guard rail the man was thrown from the motorcycle before coming to a stop on the southern shoulder of t US-17.
The motorcycle continued on before coming to a final rest in the median of US-17.
The man had been wearing a helmet during the accident.
It's not stated in the report what caused the crash.
