Motorcyclist Seriously Injured On Alico Rd In Ft Myers
LEE COUNTY FL - Florida Highway Patrol reported one person was seriously injured after a motorcycle crash in Ft Myers Tuesday evening.
The crash took place as a 47 year old man from Ft Myers was heading westbound on the inside lane of Alico Road near the intersection with James Whitehead Road.
At 6:56:00 PM the motorcyclist lost control of the vehicle and drifted into the curb at the grass median.
After hitting the curb with the front tire of the motorcycle, the vehicle overturned , and the motorcyclist was thrown from the vehicle traveling across the median, where he came to a stop in the eastbound lanes of Alico Road.
Despite wearing a helmet during the accident, the motorcyclist, was seriously injured and transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment.
FHP has stated an investigation into the cause the crash is ongoing.
