Manufacturers And Recalls

Kia Motors– There are a potential 135 affected 2017 Kia Niros. The recall is expected to begin on April 7, 2017. These vehicles may have a damaged or faulty Motor-Driven Power Steering (MDPS) connector. This part being faulty, damaged, or defective can cause the car to lose electric power steering. For any of us that are old enough to remember cars, before power steering was available, it probably resembles that. It can become difficult to turn or steer, and this increases the risk of a crash occurring. There may not be a huge number of affected units but if you suspect your car of being involved in the recall, contact Kia’s customer service department. The company’s number for the recall is SC145.

Airstream, Inc– If you are avid about the outdoors or camping, this recall notice will likely interest you. There are 293 potential affected 2017 Base Camp recreational trailers. Certain models, when heavily loaded, the tires may come in contact with the plastic liner of the wheel well. This suspension issue can result in tire failure, which increases the chances of you being involved in a crash. The recall is expected to begin on May 9, 2017, and the company will contact trailer owners. Customers can also contact Airstream’s customer service for further instructions.

Tegol, Inc– Motorcycle riders will want to pay close attention to this recall notice. Tegol is recalling certain Outlaw V-5 Series helmets. All sized helmets are involved with this event. The expected start date of the event is March 20, 2017, and approximately 11,487 helmets are expected to be affected. These helmets do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218. They may not stay fastened to your head during the event of a collision. This greatly increases the risk of sustaining a personal injury.
