Nicaraguan Man Dies After Losing Control Of Motorcycle In Sarasota


Sarasota County – Florida Highway Patrol announced that a fatal motorcycle accident occurred Saturday at the intersection of 17th and Lime Avenue in Sarasota County.

According to the report provided by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 26-year-old-man from Nicaragua lost control of his motorcycle early Saturday morning.

The report states that the accident began at 5:50 AM as the motorcycle driven by a 26-year-old-man from Nicaragua, was traveling eastbound on 17th street as it approached the railroad tracks at the Sarasota city limits.

The 26-year-old-man lost control of his motorcycle while nearing the railroad tracks at the intersection of 17th street and Lime Avenue in Sarasota. The driver struck the curb, causing him to be ejected from the motorcycle. The driver then collided with the railroad sign.

Following the initial impact, the motorcycle continued to travel eastbound on 17th street, eventually coming to a stop on the railroad tracks. Sarasota County Emergency Medical Services pronounced the 26-year-old-motorcycle driver from Nicaragua deceased at the scene.
