PALMETTO, MANATEE COUNTY – Florida Highway Patrol has announced that one person was killed after their vehicle was hit by a pickup truck on SR 64 Tuesday Afternoon.

The deadly crash took place as a 66-year-old man from Palmetto Florida was driving a Hyundai sedan heading west on State Road 62, east of Saffold Road.

As the Palmetto man proceeded toward the intersection with Saffold Road, a 37-year-old man from Ruskin was driving a GMC pickup truck heading eastbound, east of Saffold Road and approaching the oncoming Hyundai Sedan.
