Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Car Crossing US 301 In Bradenton Saturday Night
MANATEE COUNTY - Florida Highway Patrol announced that one person was deceased and three people were injured including a 15-year-old girl, after a sedan collided with a pedestrian on US 301 Saturday evening.
The deadly accident began as a 37-year-old man from Bradenton Florida was driving a sedan southbound in the left lane of US 301 approaching the intersection with 15th Street East. Also in the vehicle were two passengers, a 15-year-old girl, and a 34-year-old woman, all from Bradenton Florida.
As the car closed on the intersection from the north, a 31-year-old man from Bradenton was on foot, and attempting to walk across the intersection crossing the lanes of US-301 at 15th Street East.
At 10:23:00 PM, the sedan encountered the pedestrian still crossing the lanes of traffic and was unable to avoid a collision.
The front of the car crashed into the man crossing the street.
The pedestrian was fatally injured in the crash and pronounced deceased by first responders at the scene of the crash.
Despite wearing seat belts, all three of the sedan's occupants also sustained minor injuries during the accident.
FHP has stated that the crash remains under investigation.
