Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit By Pickup Truck On Whitfield Monday
Manatee County - Florida Highway Patrol has announced that one person is deceased after being struck by a car last Monday Night in Manatee County.
The report states that the accident occurred as the pickup truck driven by a 24-year-old man from Sarasota, was stopped at a stop sign west on Whitfield Avenue, east of Tuttle Avenue.
At the same time, an 89-year-old male pedestrian from Sarasota was walking south on the sidewalk of Tuttle Avenue, near the intersection, and attempted to cross Whitfield Avenue in a south direction.
At 7:08 PM, the pickup truck began to travel west from the stop sign, where the front right of the pickup truck collided with the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. FHP has stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
