The Most Dangerous Roads For Cyclists In Sarasota County
Many Sarasota citizens are taking up cycling these days. Some individuals have gotten bicycles to commute back and forth to work. Who can blame them with gas prices what they are today? Luckily, Florida isn't as bad as some locations, but things could definitely be better too. According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the Sunshine State on July 2 was $4.53. Meanwhile, higher grades were more expensive with mid-grade at $4.93 and premium at $5.26.
People ride bicycles for other reasons too. For example, various Sarasota residents hit trails at parks or natural forests on bikes for exercise. They get to take in the sights while shedding pounds. It's a win-win. Then, there are those who choose bikes to accommodate their green lifestyles. This mode of transportation helps them do their part to save Earth.
Florida Bicycle Accidents
It doesn't really matter why people are riding bicycles. The point is that they are, and there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, they should probably be applauded. However, being a bicyclist isn't always all that it sounds cracked up to be. That's because accidents can and do happen. And unfortunately, nobody is talking about a rider falling off and scraping their knee.
Instead, we mean the types of accidents that are caused by negligent drivers. Many motorists fail to yield the right of way, speed, and text while driving. Not to mention, driving under the influence and other reckless activities happen too. When such incidents take place, it is not uncommon for bicyclists to get severely injured. They're left with broken bones, traumatic brain injuries, burns, etc.
Those people are sometimes considered the lucky ones, though. That's because car vs. bicycle accidents also commonly claim the lives of riders. They die on scene, en route to hospitals, or after arriving at emergency rooms. So, if you're a cyclist in Florida, wouldn't you stop such events if you could?
