Punta Gorda Pedestrian In Critical After Being Hit By Truck
CHARLOTTE COUNTY - Florida Highway Patrol reported one man was in critical condition after being struck by a large pickup truck Friday night.
The hit and run incident occurred as a 52 year old man from Punta Gorda was walking on the grass shoulder long Taylor Road, near the intersection with Creekbridge Drive Friday night.
At the same time a large vehicle described as possibly being a 2003-2005 GMC C5500 pickup truck was driving Southbound on Taylor Road.
At 9:18 PM the pedestrian from Punta Gorda was hit by a part of the truck as it passed by.
The injured man came to a rest in the west side of the grass shoulder. The injured man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
