Red Light Runner Crashes Into School Bus At 63rd Ave East In Bradenton
Manatee County - Florida Highway Patrol has announced that there were no injuries after a driver runs a red light and crashes into a Bradenton school bus Monday Morning.
According to the report by FHP, the fatal crash began as a school bus driven by a 64 year-old-woman from Bradenton, Florida, with 34 students on board was traveling in the left turn lane of 63rd Avenue East, approaching the intersection with 9th Street East with a green left turn arrow.
An SUV, driven by a 38 year-old-man from Bradenton, Florida, was traveling in a westbound direction on the inside lane of 63rd Avenue East, approaching the intersection with 9th Street East with a red traffic signal.
At 7:48 A.M., The School bus proceeded to make a left turn as the SUV failed to stop at a red traffic signal. The SUV’s left side collided with the front of the School bus.
The School bus came to a final stop in a northerly direction. The sport utility vehicle came to a final rest facing in a westbound direction.
No injuries were reported of any passengers or drivers involved in this incident.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate this crash.
