Sarasota County Pedestrian Struck On US 41 In North Port
Sarasota County 8/5/2019 - Florida Highway Patrol reported a pedestrian was fatally hit while attempting to cross US 41.
The accident happened as 36 year old Keith Tulloch from North Port , was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla southbound on US 41.
As Tulloch was approaching from the north, an as of yet unidentified 82 year old man from Venice Florida was attempting to cross US 41, walking from the west side to toward the east side just north of the intersection with Myakka Drive.
At approximately 4:10 in the afternoon the pedestrian stepped into the right side of the southbound lanes and walked directly into the path of the oncoming Toyota Corolla.
The front of the car struck the pedestrian, and the man came to rest on the roadway of the right southbound lanes on US 41.
The Tulloch came to a controlled stop on the west shoulder of the southbound lanes just north of Myakka Drive facing south.
The pedestrian died from injuries sustained in the accident.
