Sarasota Cyclist Seriously Injured In Hit & Run On University Parkway
SARASOTA FL - Florida Highway Patrol announced a man was in serious condition after being struck by a utility truck while cycling along University Parkway early Sunday Morning.
The hit and run occurred at 6:00am when a 38 year old man from Sarasota was riding a bicycle westbound in the bike lane on University Parkway east of Lockwood Ridge Road.
While he was riding along traffic he was struck the mirror of a passing utility truck at speed.
The man sustained serious injuries as a result of being struck by the mirror.
FHP has asked is anyone has knowledge of the crash to contact Florida Highway Patrol or Florida CrimeStoppers.
