Sarasota Man Dies After Being Stuck By A Car On US 41 Wednesday Night
Manatee County - Florida Highway Patrol announced in a release that a pedestrian has died after being struck by a sedan while attempting to cross U.S. 41 Wednesday evening.
The accident took place at night, as a 40-year-old man from Sarasota was walking across U.S. 41 at the intersection with 69th Avenue West.
As the man walked across the roadway from the east side toward the west side a sedan driven by an 80-year-old man from Sarasota was traveling southbound on U.S. 41 approaching the intersection at 69th Avenue West.
At 10:50:00 PM, the motorist encountered the man crossing the road, and the left front of the car collided with the man crossing the road.
The driver of the car came to a controlled stop after the accident in the area of the crash.
The 40-year-old man from Sarasota died from injuries sustained in the collision. FHP has stated that the accident remains under investigation.
