Sarasota Man Is Killed After His Car Crashes Into A Truck Wednesday Night
Sarasota County - Florida Highway Patrol has announced that one person has died after an auto accident in Sarasota County Wednesday Night.
According to the report by FHP, the fatal crash began as a Cadillac driven by a 66 year old man from Sarasota Florida, was traveling east on 17th Street East approaching Gun Club Road in the right turn lane.
A Freightliner Semi driven by a 27-year-old man from Myakka City Florida, was traveling east on 17th Street East in the right-turn-only lane, slowing down to negotiate a right turn onto Gun Club Road.
The driver of the Cadillac failed to stop and struck the rear of the freightliner with the front of the Cadillac. The Cadillac rotated clockwise, coming to a final rest in the right lane facing south.
The Freightliner’s final rest was in the right-turn -only lane facing east.
The driver of the Cadillac was pronounced deceased on-scene by Sarasota County EMS.
The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate this Fatal Traffic Crash.
