Sarasota Man Killed After Being Hit By SUV On 301 In Bradenton
MANATEE COUNTY - Florida Highway Patrol reported one person died in a crash Monday night.
The accident occurred on 8/16/2021 in Bradenton at the intersection of US-301 and 44th Avenue East as a 26-year-old man from Sarasota was crossing across US-301 heading in an easterly direction.
As the pedestrian was crossing the road, a sport utility vehicle driven by an 83-year-old man from Bradenton with an 82-year-old female passenger also from Bradenton was traveling southbound in the left lane of US 301, approaching the intersection at 44th avenue east.
At 8:35:00 PM the SUV encountered the pedestrian and failed to avoid a crash.
The front of the SUV collided with the pedestrian at speed. The 26-year-old man from Sarasota was pronounced deceased at the scene by first responders.
Officers from the FHP have also stated that an investigation is ongoing to determine if a second vehicle also collided with the 26-year-old.
