Sarasota Motorcyclist Dies After Left-Turn Crash With SUV On 26th Street West In Bradenton
BRADENTON - Florida Highway Patrol has announced a tragic incident on the evening of June 8, 2023, a collision between a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and a motorcycle resulted in the death of the motorcyclist, a 32-year-old man from Sarasota. The crash occurred at 7:15 PM on 26th Street West near the intersection with 52nd Avenue Drive West.
The SUV, driven by a 47-year-old man from Arcadia, Florida, was traveling south on 26th Street West. Also in the SUV was a 23-year-old woman from Bradenton. As they approached the intersection with 52nd Avenue Drive West, the SUV attempted to make a left turn.
At the same time, the motorcyclist, traveling north on 26th Street West, was moving towards the same intersection. Unable to avoid the turning SUV, the motorcycle collided with the right front side door of the vehicle.
Both the driver and passenger of the SUV suffered minor injuries from the collision. However, the motorcyclist was critically injured in the accident and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
Despite the best efforts of the medical team, the motorcyclist tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating to confirm the identity of the deceased motorcyclist, and the events leading to the crash.
