Sarasota Motorcyclist Dies In Crash On Beneva Road
SARASOTA FL - A motorcyclist was killed after being involved in a crash Saturday afternoon.
The accident took place as a 74-year-old man from Sarasota was driving a car in the left lane of northbound Beneva Road, north of Bee Ridge Road.
Following the car, was a 57-year-old man also from Sarasota riding a motorcycle.
At 1:25:00 PM the man in the car slowed down to make a U-turn, however, the motorcyclist failed to notice the move and did not slow down.
The front of the motorcycle crashed onto the left rear corner of the car. The motorcyclist and his vehicle came to a final stop, with the motorcycle lying on its left side in the left lane of Beneva Road.
The car came to a stop in the paved median.
The motorcyclist had not been wearing a helmet and died as a result of injuries he sustained in the accident.
The driver of t he car was not harmed in the crash.
