Sarasota Motorcyclist Dies In Crash On University Parkway Sunday Night
MANATEE COUNTY - FHP has reported a man from Sarasota died Sunday evening after being involved in a crash on University Parkway.
The crash took place as a 41 year old man from Sarasota was riding a motorcycle westbound on University Parkway heading toward the intersection with Kentucky Street.
As the motorcyclist approached Kentucky Street from the east, a 37 year old man driving a sedan was eastbound on University Parkway approaching Kentucky Street from the west.
At 8:33 PM, the sedan drove into the lanes directly in front of the oncoming motorcycle. The right front of the motorcycle collided with the left side of the sedan.
Both the motorcycle and sedan finally came to a stop in the crossover median in the center of University Parkway.
The motorcyclist died as a result of the crash , and had not been wearing a helmet in the accident. The driver of the sedan was injured and is in serious condition.
The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
