Sarasota Woman Dies After Being Hit By Pickup Truck Friday Night
SARASOTA - Florida Highway Patrol announced a woman was killed after being hit by a pickup truck while walking along State Road 72 (Clark Road) Friday Evening.
The crash happened as a 32-year-old woman from Sarasota Florida was walking eastbound on the inside lane of Clark Road west of Colonial Drive.
As the woman was walking on the road, a 65-year-old man from Venice Florida was driving a pickup truck heading east on Clark Road.
The driver of the pickup truck encountered the pedestrian in the roadway and failed to avoid a collision.
The front left of the pickup truck collided with the woman from Sarasota, fatally injuring her.
First responders pronounced the woman deceased at the scene of the crash.
FHP has stated that the crash remains under investigation.
