Sarasota Woman Seriously Injured After Collision With FedEx Van On Clark Road

SARASOTA COUNTY - Florida Highway Patrol reported two people were injured after being involved in a crash on Clark Road near Twin Lakes Park in Sarasota Friday afternoon.

The accident happened when a 52 year old man from Bradenton Florida was driving a FedEx van northbound on Hummingbird Ave approaching the intersection with State Road 72 (Clark Road).

As the FedEx Van closed on the intersection with Clark, a woman from Sarasota was driving a van heading east also approaching the intersection with Hummingbird Avenue.

At 1:33 in the afternoon, the driver of the FedEx van attempted to make a left turn, pulling out from Hummingbird Avenue onto Clark Road and directly into the path of the oncoming van driven by the woman from Sarasota.

The left front of the FedEx van collided with the left front of the oncoming van on Clark road.

After the initial crash, both vehicles came to a stop in the eastbound lanes on Clark Road.

The investigating Trooper stated the driver of the FedEx van violated right-of-way when they attempted to turn onto Clark Road.

The woman from Sarasota was seriously injured from the crash.

The FedEx driver suffered only minor injuries.
