Skateboarder In Critical Condition After Bradenton Hit-And-Run Crash
BRADENTON - Florida Highway Patrol announced a pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a car Midnight Monday.
The hit-and-run crash occurred as a pedestrian was traveling south on a skateboard on 15th Street East in the center of the road.
Approaching the skateboarder was a 19-year-old man from Bradenton driving a 2017 Mazda sedan.
At 12:03 AM the front of the Mazda sedan crashed into the skateboarder, then fled the scene of the crash.
The injured pedestrian was taken to Blake Medical Center in critical condition for medical treatment.
Florida Highway Patrol later located the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle and arrested them for leaving the scene with a serious injury.
The driver was taken to Manatee County Jail.
