Two Die After Food Truck Engulfed In Flames During Crash On I-75 Near Fruitville Road

Sarasota County – Florida Highway Patrol has announced that Both the driver and passenger of a Cheverlotte food truck died after a Firey crash caused by a mechanical failure in Sarasota Tuesday Morning.

According to the report by FHP, the fatal crash began as a Chevy Food Truck was traveling Southbound on Interstate 75 occupying the center lane approaching Fruitville Road (Mile Marker 210).

The Chevy Food Truck experienced a catastrophic failure of the front right tire causing the vehicle to enter the left travel lane.

The Driver of the Chevy Food Truck was unable to control the vehicle as it overturned within the roadway coming to a final rest within the left travel lane and grassy median.

The Chevy Food Truck then became engulfed in Flames entrapping both occupants of the vehicle.

Sarasota County EMS pronounced both occupants deceased on the scene. Identification of both occupants to be made via Medical Examiners Office.

The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate the traffic crash.
