Venice Man Dies In Crash On Fruitville Road Sunday

Sarasota County - Florida Highway Patrol has announced that a man has died after losing control of his car and hitting a tree on Fruitville Road Sunday Afternoon.

The report states that the accident occurred as a sedan driven by a 66-year-old man from Venice was traveling eastbound on Fruitville Road east of Annie Laurie Lane.

At approximately 5:02 P.M., the sedan approached a curve in the roadway, traveled from the payment onto the north grassy shoulder, and collided with a tree.

The sedan then came to rest on the north grass shoulder. The driver of the sedan, a man age 66 from Venice Florida, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Sarasota County EMS.
