Venice Motorcyclist Dies In Crash At Shamrock & US 41

VENICE FL – FHP reported a motorcyclist was killed in a crash at Shamrock Blvd., and U.S. 41 Friday evening.

The accident took place as a 45-year-old man from Venice FL was riding a motorcycle and had stopped for a red light at the intersection of southbound US 41 and Shamrock Road.

As the motorcyclist waited at the intersection, a 37-year-old woman from Venice Florida was in a Sport Utility Vehicle stopped in the inside lane of US 41 at the driveway intersection with Lowes Hardware at, 1745 US Tamiami Trail, for a red traffic signal.

After the light at Shamrock turned green, the motorcyclist proceeded southbound on US 41 toward the intersection at the Lowes driveway.

At 7:20:00 PM the motorcyclist crashed into the rear of the right rear of the SUV.

Both vehicles came to a stop at the scene of the crash and the motorcyclist was critically injured in the accident.

The motorcyclist had been wearing a helmet during the accident, he was fatally injured in the crash.

FHP has stated the crash remains under investigation.
