Wrong Way Driver Under the Influence Collides With Semi On I-75 North Of Bee Ridge Road In Sarasota
Sarasota County - FHP has announced that a driver who was under the influence Lost control of their vehicle when traveling the wrong way and collided with a semi on I-75 North of Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota County Early Sunday morning.
The accident began as a sedan, driven by a 21 year-old-man from Spring Hill, Florida, was traveling the wrong way in the northbound inside lane of Interstate 75, near mile marker 208, north of Bee Ridge Road.
Simultaneously, a Semi-truck Tanker Trailer driven by a 35 year-old-man from Ruskin, Florida, was traveling north in the northbound center travel lane of Interstate 75, at mile marker 208, north of Bee Ridge Road, being approached by the sedan.
At 4: 54 A.M., The Front of the sedan collided with the right side of the trailer portion of the semi-truck tanker.
The 21 year-old-driver of the sedan from Spring Hill, Florida, sustained minor injuries and was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to the Sarasota County jail.
