NAPLES FL – Florida Highway Patrol reported a cyclist died after an accident caused by debris in a bike lane early Sunday morning.
The deadly accident took places a 58 year old man was riding a bicycle northbound on Livingstone Road in the bicycle lane just north of the intersection with Veterans Blvd.
At 5:45:00 AM, the cyclist ran into palm tree debris that had fallen into the bike lane.
After crashing into the debris, the man was thrown from his bicycle and onto the roadway, were he came to a stop.
The cyclist was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
FHP has stated that the crash remains under investigation.
