Second Chance Last Opportunity

Healing and Hope Gala

The 4th Annual Healing & Hope Gala, held by Second Chance Last Opportunity on March 28th, 2025, at Michael’s on East, was an evening filled with inspiration, unity, and community spirit. Hosted by the outstanding duo of John Knowles, Owner and Publisher of Scene Magazine, and Renee James Gilmore, Executive Producer at ABC7 WWSB/Empowering Voices, the gala celebrated resilience, empowerment, and positive community impact.

The keynote address by Rev. Elizabeth Liz Walker, founder of The CAN WE TALK Network, deeply resonated with all in attendance. Inspirational performances by students from Booker Middle School’s Vision Performing Arts program captivated the audience, while testimonials from participants of SCLO’s Women and Girls Empowerment Program showcased profound personal growth and empowerment.

Local community partners, including BMO and First Horizon banks, were honored for their steadfast contributions to our community.

The evening concluded with lively dancing and heartfelt camaraderie, highlighting the event’s success through sold-out attendance and enthusiastic community participation.
